Reino Ruin

Wondering about what could be a contemporary ruin in a country lacking classical ruins, with destroyed indigenous remnants and an incomplete modernity like Chile, I connected with personal and collective memory— something between sediment and simulation—by constructing false ruins with market waste.
The installation Reino ruin is a visual display of this material discourse. By mixing organic, industrial, and cultural remnants, it aims to articulate an order of entropy, where the whole appears unified under a simulated condition of decay. These false ruins, resembling furniture without any past glory or temporal hierarchy, challenge historical linearity in an event of simultaneous decadence.
